Flowers from Mum and Dad's garden

Snapdragons, sweet peas and David Austin's Pilgrim from my Mum and Dad's garden. Very pretty.

I discovered yesterday what the pink button daisy from my last post is called. It's a Bellis daisy, a perennial that's related to the daisy that grows in the lawn.

The pink rose is the new release David Austin Strawbery Hills and the mauve rose is Guillot's Florence Delattre.

They have all been struggling against the horrible wind for the last few days.

Studio update

We worked very hard this weekend to get the shelving part of the storage under way. I am so tired from lifting, cutting and joining endless sheets of 16mm mdf. We now need to do a little smoothing off of some of the edges, join the units all together, put on some backing (the wall behind is very uneven), paint.....ie. lots to do!

These are the cupboard knobs I chose for the doors. An ebay bargain.

Once the unit is finished we then have to do some plastering, get skirting board to match, picture rail, improve lighting etc etc!!

Turquoise Part 2

Fresh peas

I love fresh peas. I've always loved eating raw peas straight from the pod.

These peas are the first ones to make it into the house ( only for a pic - I ate them straight after!). I have even been seen down in the patch early in the morning in my pj's eating them. I just can't help myself.

The fact that I will probably never get to cook any of my crop doesn't bother me at all as nothing beats them raw. They're like cute little vitamin pills.

House of Turquoise

I discovered House of Turquoise the other day. What beautiful interiors of blue matched with white and other lovely colours. It has definately been inspiring me.

Getting Christmasy

I think I mentioned before how much I am looking forward to Christmas this year. Normally I am complaining at the end of October and early November how Christmas is ages away so why all the Christmas stuff in the shops? However, this year I am eagerly sussing out all the Christmas bits and pieces as I just can't wait to decorate Molly's Masion. I have finished my little felt decorations and made "JOY". Lyndon asked who Joy was when he saw it. Hmmmm...

Outdoor achievements

What a gorgeous weekend! We have been super busy out in the yard and I now have an additional vegie patch. Very exciting. It's already been planted out with pumpkin, capsicum, chinese cabbage, rocket, pinkeye potatoes and corn.
I thought I would post a few before and after pics - we very quickly forget how bad the yard really was. It's very rewarding to see the improvements...

Fabulous book

I have somewhat of a 'thing' for books, all sorts of books but particularly art, fashion and jewellery books. Well, combine that with an interest in all things fancy and you have my latest treat to myself Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture. This is one beautiful book which is also limited edition so I had to get my little mitts on it.

It has a funky plexiglass cover, dust jacket by artist Takashi Murakami and about 400 pages of gorgeousness. Sigh...

It's full of collaborations with artists, designers and architects.

Not quite duck-egg

Still in my blue patch, we found this little rejected egg the other day - think it might be a blackbird. Very pretty colour.

I'm down to threee swatches for the studio wall so will get some samples soon. Still so much to do in there. I've lost count of all the coats of paint, maybe seven or eight. We will start on the shelving part this weekend.
