I pruned all the iceberg roses along the front fence on the weekend. The last of the winter blooms came inside for me to enjoy -they're so pretty but the heat of the wood fire doesn't allow them to last very long.
I actually find pruning a pleasant job - just as well as all I do is plant more and more roses!
The spring bulbs are starting to emerge and soon enough all my roses will send out their new growth too. Exciting times out in the garden!
lovely photos, some are very dramatic. thanks for your comment on mine. btw, can you tell me whether Porteous still has that African artifacts gallery at the end of Salamanca? if so i want to try to get more of the very simple clay beads that you can just see a part of one on the side of the basket. What's the name of the gallery? i seem to have deleted your address when i cleaned up my adress book recently, sorry. kaite
I'm very envious of the size of your garden Sarah! I only have one rose bush and I'm trying to find space for another. Isn't it wonderful watching the new growth. Hope you get lots more time in your lovely garden. Great photos too!
Your roses are just beautiful Sarah! We have to wait until we have our last frost before we can prune ours, so a couple more months yet. Enjoy your Spring bulbs when they flower. Hope you have a wonderful week ~ Tina xx
Beautiful pics. I've been eying the Iceberg rose for some time. It's on my dream list along with a ton of other plants. Wondering if it has a nice scent. Sorry to hear there's a wood fire, sounds like it might have been going on for a while? I like the pictures where the roses cast a shadow on the wall.
I've missed you Sarah, I'm struggling to keep up with everything at the moment! Your roses look so much healthier than mine. I think I'm going to pull ours out along the driveway (terrible, I know) but it's just so cluttered. We have beautiful ones along the fence like you do and I'm looking after those..Rachaelxx

Found you via Ada and Darcy- love the roses, you are lucky to have so much sun. I garden in 100% shade which is maddening and frustrating!

ReplyDeleteSpring bulbs already! That is good news, I'm so sick of it being cold.
