In the garden

Out in the garden some of the blooms are coming to an end so it's starting to look a bit patchy and messy.
Here are a few nice bits...

Hydrangeas

Lillies and larkspur

Hollyhocks

Foxglove

and geranium...
....and I also discovered a wild beast trying to camouflage herself amongst the plants...

We jokingly call her "velcro kid" as everything sticks to her labradoodly fur/hair combo.
She's a laugh a minute :)

True love

It was love at first sight when Lyndon opened his Christmas gift - a home brew kit.
That bond has deepened as he started his first brew and now, at bottling time, the two of them are inseparable.
I have to say it is quite a scientific activity (if you remove the love aspect). I did suggest that a lab coat would be an appropriate dress code as temperatures are monitored, readings are taken and noted, not to mention the looks of deep concentration.

I hope you all are having a relaxing day. I'm painting...trying to finish a little project I started many months ago. More about that later  :)

One pooped pup

Lots of pressies and treats have left Molly one pooped pup.
She's snoozing on the couch this morning. Too much excitement for this furry girl :)

Tord Boontje garland

Obviously this is NOT a Tord Boontje garland :)
But, I was lucky enough to receive one for Christmas from my sister. Thanks Rachael :)
I love Tord Boontje design.
SO, I decided to set it up in the hallway in place of the grotty paper lantern shade that had been hanging there since we moved in.
It was so dirty!

Here is the garland flat packed.
I had read on Anna's blog Door Sixteen that setting up the garland is like organising a pack of wild ferrets.

But there it is! It wasn't too difficult at all.

Look at the shadows..

Not the best pics, but you get the gist.

Ooohh, pretty!

Christmas 1974

Little old me on Santa's knee, aged 3 years.
I'd have been quite happy with that ballon Santa will hand me, maybe with a lolly.
Look at those long socks. I wish litle kids were dressed that way these days :)

Wishing you all a safe, happy Christmas filled with joy and those that you love.
Best wishes xx

A mini Molly's Maison

A mini version of the lounge at Molly's Maison, made by Lyn's mum.

Here it is all folded up, and below, unfolded...

There's Molly standing with her ball by the fireplace.

And lots of very tiny, but yummy food.
Clever, isn't it?

Gingerbread House

Here's the little gingerbread house that I baked and decorated the other day.

This year I went with a simple red and white design. I must say I'm rather pleased with the results :)

Boy, did it make the house smell nice while it was cooking.

Friday flower

I'm going quite Christmasy for this Friday Flower with my poinsettia.
I purchased this plant last Christmas and have been surprised to see it has kept it's red leaves all year long, despite often being very neglected. Whoops :)
Happy Friday!

A Christmas Mantelpiece

I have to admit I went with last year's theme of a wintry wonderland, well, because I liked it!
Just one new little addition and that's an acorn. Very cute.

It has fairy lights as well, which I turn on in the evening.

And of course our monogrammed stockings. Molly keeps checking hers but I will have to wait until Christmas Eve until I put anything in it as she wont leave it alone. As it is she keeps checking it to see if there's anything in there. That dog...  :)

Studio details

I'm still tidying and sorting out my studio room but here are a few snippets...

Lovely French lace (a great Ebay find) and below is my fantastic Penny Malone 'button'. It is hand stencilled linen and looks like a giant covered button. I just love it. Penny is a local Tassie artist.

Lots of books and my recent little purchase, a glass dome.

I'm really loving the pale blue wall colour, all those shelves and the chandelier.
A few more bits to organise and tidy up and waiting on the delivery of a rug. Oh, and the curtains! I'm planning on making some, maybe over my Christmas break :)

ps still decorating so Chrissy posts to come!

And the winner is...

Lucky number 13...Brismod!
Congratulations!

I couldn't get the screen capture thingy to work so here's a photo of the screen.
Thank you to you all for the lovely comments about my work. It means a lot to me.
Brismod, looking forward to hearing from you :)
