Friday flowers...tulips

Hi friends, today for Friday Flowers we have a group of tulips images I took recently. I have a bigger post about these to come, but like this shot.
Wishing you all a really nice day and great weekend.
On Monday I will be doing another Bits and bobs post and of course I'd love it if any of you would like to join in.

Anthropologie love (+more Molly)

Like many of you out there in blogland, I have long admired the goodies at Anthropologie. As the Aussies amongst us know, there is no store in Australia.  Well, I finally took the plunge and bought myself a couple of goodies online recently.

I bought this wonderfully colourful sheet set. I realise it is probably too over the top for the minimalists out there, but I love the fabric and pattern. I decided it was too pretty to cover up with a doona, so I turned the top sheet into a doona cover!

Molly really liked it when I layed it out on the floor. I thought the crazy pattern would also be good at hiding the paw prints that regularly appear on our bed.

Below is the doona and sheets on our bed. And wouldn't you know I caught a naughty, somewhat wet pooch (Molly) up there having come home from paddling in the nearby creek!

And because I could I added this super cute ceramic punnet thingy in with my order. Pretty no?

Needless to say, I have the Anthro bug. I can't wait to do a spot of shopping there again, one day in person!
Are you an Anthro fan? What goodies have you bought from there?

The Destructathon

Molly thanks you all for your sweet birthday wishes in the last post. She had an exciting time, though the weather was too horrible for a fun outing (plus I was stuck at work all weekend). She had some more pressies to open yesterday and I fear we have created a monster as the first thing she did this morning was go looking for more pressies!
We often refer to the little girl as our "Destructathon". She is just so good at wrecking her toys. She rarely ever keeps any of them in one piece. Lyn's parents brought her around the pink pig and Molly set about destructing it. At least she has a nice time!
Have a great week friends!

Birthday girl!

Hip hip hooray, it's Molly's birthday! Our little girl is 8 years old today.

I took these pics yesterday. Last night I wrapped some pressies for her and she was onto me, sniffing them out. She's a super smart girl.

This morning when she got up she knew it was pressie time. I have never known an animal to love unwrapping pressies so much!

I made a very dodgy video of the unwrapping.

What a cute girl!

I love her fuzzy butt.

ps are any of you experiencing problems with uploading pics? I am finding it almost impossible!

A day trip to Frecyinet

Hello friends, last weekend was a busy one as I played tour guide and showed my friend Neetha (who had come all the way from London) a bit of my beautiful home state.
Friday we popped out to Mona Museum, which is one of my favourite spots.
On Saturday we went to the Salamanca Markets and spent quite a bit of the day pottering about, despite the drizzle.
Then on Sunday we took the drive up the east coast to Coles Bay and the Freycinet National Park.
It's such a lovely spot. The road sign above really amused me - that is one very big kangaroo. Funnily enough though, a few years ago when Mum and I went up there for a drive a huge kangaroo did jump out and hit the side of the car - in broad daylight. It was terrifying! I'm pretty sure he was ok as he hopped away.

The lovely red lichen covered rocks of Coles Bay looking over towards the Hazards.

More rocks :)

This lovely wallaby was hanging around the car park in Freycinet. I was surprised to see the rather big, but still pretty hairless joey in her pouch.

The large granite boulders are amazing.

I tell you what, the walk up to the Wineglass Bay lookout made me realise I really am rather unfit. I must do something about that.
What a beautiful scene. It is called Wineglass Bay due to the shape, but also as it was a spot where the whaling ships last century would round up and slaughter whales. The water would apparently turn red, like a glass of red wine. It is much more beautiful now that the whales are safe :)
Have you visited Freycinet?

Bits and bobs... vintage florals

Time for a new Bits and bobs and this time it's a little collection of vintage floral bits.
What have we got here? There are some old seed packet labels, millinery flowers, velvet leaves,
German glass stamens and some French beaded flowers. All so pretty I think :)
I hope you all have a lovely week. I have been busy sight-seeing with my friend but today is a relaxed, pottering day I think.
xx
ps I was forgetful and didn't remind you guys I was putting together a Bits and bobs for today. I would love it if you would like to join in though. Just leave me a comment. I promise to do it again in two weeks :)

Friday Furries

Don't you just love the look on her face?
I took this just after I got Molly into the bath the other day. She had been a bit grotty and rather on the nose so I thought with a guest coming to stay this weekend that a bath was in order.
What do you think she is saying?
"Oh Mum, I was just starting to smell good, why do you want to make me all clean again?"
I love those eyes.
Normally she is happy to get in the bath, but she wasn't in the mood the other day. How are your pets to bathe? A dream or nightmare?
Happy Friday to you all friends. I have the day off today which is great. A friend who I haven't seen in about 16 years is coming to stay for the weekend. We plan on doing a bit of sightseeing so hopefully I'll have some pics to show you next week.
Have a lovely one!

Stripey shopping

Do you ever get to the point when you are sick of everything in your wardrobe and everything seems worn to death and worn out?
Well, that's definitely me. I don't tend to buy a lot of clothes, and as much as I love fashion, I wear the same basics over and over. I live in jeans, tshirts and cardigans along with scarves.
I think the weather must have something to do with my 'blah' feeling and desire for colour. I'm a bit over winter and want the nice, warmer weather to come.
Today I treated myself by popping into the Country Road section at Myer. And this is what I came home with! Stripes + colour! I think I have a slight addiction to stripes. But that's a whole other story.
Have you noticed all the nice colour coming into the shops?
I'm so excited by it all, hence my choices today. Goodness only knows if the colours suit me and what I have to wear them with, but I know I'll feel a cheerier with these guys on. The linen scarf will come in handy and I'm told they go nice and soft after a few washes.
Are you a strictly neutral gal, or will you be delving into some spring/summer colour with me?
xx
ps Country Road now ship overseas :)
pps NOT a sponsored post but happy to accept more stripey tops if you are reading Mr/Mrs PR at CR!

Friday flowers...a very late, or early rose

This is Ambridge Rose, a lovely David Austin that I planted last winter. It has been pretty slow to get going and I was surprised that it has decided to flower now. I am assuming it's just very late and not very early for spring?

The garden really is looking pretty scrappy at the moment, but I suppose that's fair, it being winter and all :)

The bulbs are the one thing that are doing well. This is the front path and at the moment it's full of earlicheer and daffs.

My iTouch camera doesn't cope well with high contrast but you get the idea.
I have been photographing a bunch or tulips every day this week, you can see them in my instagram feed on the right. I'm still snapping away so will post those next week.

Well, almost the weekend. I'm meeting up with the girls after work today so looking forward to that, but have a busy weekend at work ahead.
How about you? I hope it's more relaxing than me.
Thanks for all of your well-wishes for my baby niece, Hannah. She is doing well and big sister Nicola (4and a half years old) is really cute with her.
Hugs xx

Bits and bobs... sparkle

It's Bits and bobs day and today I have gone with the theme "sparkle".
It's such a grey, rainy Monday that I thought some sparkle would be nice.
I love sparkly things and here we have some swarovski crystals, large clear sequins, vintage mini pastry cases, two lots of vintage buttons (love those heart ones), my special Chanel necklace and the most stunning length of handbeaded trim that I have had for years and haven't had a project special enough to use it.

And speaking of special, here's another photo of my baby niece Hannah who was born last Friday. This photo was taken yesterday. Look at all that hair!

I'd love to see a few of you join in with Bits and bobs but I fear I am too disorganised with my planning. Hopefully some of you can, no rush, just leave me a comment here and I'll add you in.
Thanks for dropping by.

* Please drop by Penny at Paisley Summer who has posted a great gardening Bits and bobs!

Friday flowers and very exciting news!

Happy Friday friends!
It's an exciting day today with green blooms and happy news.
Why is that, you ask?
My little niece Hannah was born today :)

Happy Birthday Hannah. Welcome to the world!
Very grainy pics but it wasn't very bright in the room.

There's Auntie Sarah getting acquainted :)
And the flowers, they were for my sister. Lots of green and white - kale, lilies, spider chrysanthemums and green carnations with magnolia leaves. A bit different I thought.

Have a lovely weekend everyone and I hope to see some of you on Monday for a Bits and bobs post!
