Friday flower

Look at this stunning Hakea bloom that came from my friend Leonie's garden.
It looks prickly but it's actuallt quite soft. I believe it's a West Australian native. SO pretty!

Not much happening in my garden at the moment - lots of preparation for spring still going on. Can you believe I still have bulbs to go in? Hopefully that job will be finished this weekend. I've just planted a beautiful David Austin rose, The Dark Lady and luckily I have space for about six more roses.
Have a lovely, relaxing weekend everyone!

  3. Thats such a pretty pink flower Sarah, exactly what's needed with this dull grey weather we are having! Thanks for the heads up with the barnyard market, I haven't been to that one yet. Might have to wait for the next one sadly, having a cooking/photography day with friends tomorrow. Hope you have a great weekend and get your bulbs in : )

  11. I just found your blog and have to tell you that I love your Friday Flowers. I'm from the western USA and my flowers really aren't doing much yet and even when they do I won't have anything like you are spotlighting. Thanks for sharing! P.S. I'm very jealous of your wall of cubicles.

  12. Oooh, I love it!
Cute little ball there. It sure does look a bit prickly, and very exotic. T me at least. Nice neighbor you have who shares. I was actually in my neighbors garden last night and she cut of a piece too from a tree for me.
I can believe you still have bulbs to go in. You read my post. I had so many garden plans for this weekend, now my husband just invited the whole fat family for a Memorial Day party on Sunday, so, plans changed.
Dave Austin, huh? Sounds like a great plan. Maybe I'll see them in the fall on your blog. Can't wait.
