Sniffing out treats on my photo shoot. |
I'm embarrassed to admit it, but Lyndon and I are completely doodle-whipped.
A certain furry and rather domineering labradoodle rules this roost.
Each week I am compelled to purchase a box of Lucky Dog bones and generally every fourth week I also add a box of Brownies to the shopping list.
Over a year this adds up to $280! I had no idea until I calculated it yesterday whilst writing my shopping list.
Add to that the Schmakos and other treats, along with her regular food and this is one spoilt pooch.
I know, I know, it's all our own fault.
She is such a creature of habit and she has trained us so well. I have to say, Lyn is more "whipped" than I am.
First thing in the morning she gets a bone and after she's eaten her dinner she gets a "chaser" bone for being a good girl. Sometimes she's super sneaky and bothers both Lyn and I separately to score two bones. She opens the pantry door and lays in there with her head poking out, waiting for one of us to come along and treat her. Funny thing is that the bones are kept on a low shelf that she could reach if she wanted to.
It's just not worth the hassle to not buy them for her. As you can see in the photo above, if she doesn't get one she can get very snappy!
Peace is restored, the dog has a bone :)
Are you slave to your furry kid?
xx
PS. this is (unfortunately) not a sponsored post, but Purina, if you read this, Molly would be most happy to tell everyone how much she loves your bones if you wish to send us, say, a shipping container full. Thank you in advance :)
This is so funny. Ours are pretty good at home, we don't keep a lot of treats. But the cheeky buggers want our food. Especially Claudia. Last night they were both hanging over me as I ate some chocolate slice (which of course they can't eat) one on either side! The pressure.
ReplyDeleteThey are shocking at Mum's as she keeps schmackos for them. They will go and sit in the kitchen, pointedly staring at the jar, until she caves. Nigella even drools!
Oh the drool! My favourite! Molly knows to stare at Lyn while we are eating dinner as there's never meat on my plate. She has Lyn trained to give her a tidbit at the end of his meal. Oh the shame!!
DeleteMolly, you cheeky gal! Maisie has been a bit denied in the treat department since the arrival of Lucinda. Although, she now gets to come and eat the scraps from around the base of the highchair three times a day, so I think she's pretty happy. xx
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how dogs train us isn't it?! But how can you resist such a cute face.
ReplyDeletePortia makes the most hilarious noise if you eat nuts and don't give her any! x
I love that dog! I LOVE HER! Sorry, I no longer read your blog for the flowers. It's the dog!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear Sarah I know exactly Souk and Winnie totally run this house!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteyou sarah are just the cutest dog owner ever......I love reading about Molly, smooch have a fab week lisa xx
ReplyDeleteYes, little Charlie has both Mum and i completely under his paw. I spent the whole morning yesterday cooking up, packaging and freezing his food for the next fortnight. He of course supervised the whole process and continually got in the way.
ReplyDeleteOh Molly you are a pampered pooch! MInd you, my Chealsa really has nothing to complain about! Sleeping in one half of a teen double bed every night who would complain? She gets fed quite well too..... Happy week! X
ReplyDeleteWhat I spend for my cats' food equals three and a half months of rent for my cottage. Vet bills aside, of course. I give up buying things for me because I want my babies to have top food, top litter, toys, and blah blah blahs. But since they are the key to my (supposed) mental health, I'm not really spending all that money on them only. They make me laugh, they cuddle me, they keep me company and they cheer me up when I'm down. I have no idea what could be worth more than this. Pretty clothes? Nah. Nice furniture? What's the point, they would tear them down in an instant. I prefer to be broke, to live in a shabby but not chic home and be happy, thanks.
ReplyDeleteWell put Bobbi! It is worth it for the love and happiness they bring us :)
DeleteVery funny! Our spoodle loves to be spoiled. lately she has been crying at the door at 6am to come inside. Breaks my heart.
