I photographed this very busy bee out in the garden the other day.
It was doing circles around a stem of Liatris (or Gay Feather) in my backyard.
Don't you think the colour is beautiful? After a slow start this plant has done so well this year, with many long, healthy stems - very pleasing to the eye.
I am happy that it's Friday. The Aus tralian Wooden Boat Festival starts today and I am hoping we can pop down after work for a look.
Hopefully you all have something fun planned too?

ReplyDeleteNice macro shots, Sarah! I wonder if people grow it here. Looking it up, I see it's a type of aster. Probably lots of people grow it and I've just never noticed! I'll be watching for it now...
ReplyDeleteI just love to see the colour in faraway gardens when pretty much all we have is grey days, bare soil and rain.
ReplyDeleteAren't they cute? I think they are. I remember spending entire afternoon in my beloved uncle Sergio's porch watching bees being around flowers together. He used to plant certain flowers only to attract bees. Everytime I see those flowers i think of him.
ReplyDeleteThese are really gorgeous photos! You got something that is typically hard to capture! Well done!
