Bits and bobs... vintage buckles

Some bits and boobs for you this Monday and this time it's a little collection of vintage buckles. These came from my grandmother, Great Auntie Ila (she passed a year ago today - gosh that's gone quick) and some given to me by a lady at work. They're odd things but they're nice nevertheless.

Did you have a nice weekend? It was perfect here yesterday. I'm not sure what temperature it got to but it was super sunny. It was also Mum's birthday so we had afternoon tea at my sister's house. I baked mum a tiramisu layered sponge cake with almond praline. It was delicious, light but tasty. Easy-ish too.

What are your plans for the week? I have today and tomorrow work free so I plan on getting out into the garden to get the vegie patches under order. Time to get the tomatoes in, along with beans and corn I think.
Have a great week!
xx

I have a collection of vintage buckles too, some very similar, and I'm just waiting for inspiration to strike as to how to use them.

  2. I remember when women used to keep things like buttons and buckles, usually kept in an old biscuit or chocolate tin. I loved looking through them, sorting them out etc. How lovely that you've inherited a collection and been able to add to it and now display it.
It's beautiful and sunny here today but still nippy so I'm wearing mittens!
No gardening for me this week, well maybe just a little, I've sold so many cushion covers lately, I really have to get on and make more.
    Enjoy your week. P xx

  5. What a fabulous collection Sarah! Old buckles are few and far between it seems these days, and yours are particularly lovely.
Hope you got some good gardening in today. Mine so badly needs a little attention. Maybe next weekend...

  7. What an interesting little collection and how nice that they hold memories of special family members for you.

Our week ahead, after Grace's swimming lessons today is looking rather quiet until a morning tea catch-up on Friday. Would love to get out in our vegetable patch too but rain is forecast here all week x

  9. Hello there!! I'm back. First of all thanks for your lovely message about my Max ( it's been a while and I should have thanked you a long ago, I know) ...how's molly?
These are lovely buckles. I bought a few last year to make some belts over the summer, and I can't find any anymore. Why vintage stuff looks so appealing?
