The Snow Queen's Garden

I had to share with you a beautiful hand crafted Russian inspired felt Matryoshka doll I acquired from a recent craft and design market in Hobart.

Look at the incredible detail! It was all done by hand. The artist, a lovely lady by the name Natasha told me she had a customer argue with her that there was no way they were done by hand as they're too perfect!

Absolutely adorable. She is about 9cm tall.

I'm hoping to acquire another in Christmassy colours. Natasha is happy to create personalised dolls too. Her business is called The Snow Queen's Garden. What a talent!
Wishing you all a lovely week. I'm feeling like doing something crafty. Maybe a bit of sewing? I have so many projects on the go and in my head, but none looking like being finished. Do you do that?
xx

  5. Oh no! How can one put a price on something so intricately done? A Christmas-coloured one would be snazzy! And the spoon is a cool touch.

I mean really, arguing about whether it's hand-made!? Some people.

  9. Hi Sarah, how detailed is that doll - gorgeous! I have just sewn a cushion and am about to attempt the second one - that is a major win for me who doesn't really know how to sew. I am starting with a basic square, fingers crossed! ;-)

  11. No wonder you couldn't resist her Sarah. I so admire artists (like yourself) with the patience and talent to create something so detailed. I'm not sure I'd have the same patience, much as I might like to think so!
I need to get myself cracking on a few projects for this house of ours. I'm trying to find a little space somewhere so that I can get started. xx
P.S So sorry to have missed your blogiversary! I'm sure blogging friendships are the best thing to come from blogging. Happy belated wishes my friend.

  13. Oh it's beautiful Sarah so much detail and skill in it, did you find it at the market? I went but didn't see them, I did get one of those nice candles in the fowlers jars though. What sort of projects are you dreaming up? I'd love to take a pottery class desperately but I feel I have enough on the go right now. Have a lovely week and thank you for your kind words about island menu x

  14. The snow queen is adorable, but how funny to argue with the maker about her. I definately think they are worth collecting.
