I love washi tape

The title says it all. Have you discovered the prettiness that is Japanese washi tape?

I have accumulated a few rolls from Etsy but imagine my excitement when I went into a local homewares store recently to discover it on their half price table. Wow. I was thrilled. A nice little bundle came home with me.

What have I been creating with all this cuteness I hear you ask? Well, mostly giftcards. But that's a whole new post! I can't wait to show you guys and see what you think.
ps look at that fluoro pink tape. I'm rather enamoured by fluoro pink at the moment. It's funny as I tend to always feel that you should only do a fashion once. Well, despite being a teen in the 80's when fluoro was the big thing, I love it more now. I'd even love to paint something in the house this colour. Not sure how keen Lyn would be for me to do that. It's not the blokiest of colours! That reminds me of a boy I went to school with. He refused to touch anything pink and even wrapped his pink texta in paper before he used it so he wouldn't be contaminated with girl colour!

  1. Boys! Aren't they funny?

I've seen Washi tape about. It has a nice texture too. I'm thinking it may be good for birthday present wrapping.

Now I'm going to have to buy some, SarahB!

  4. Is the same tape I've seen people make temporary wallpaper stripes from? It looks gorgeous but unless you can use it as wallpaper I doubt I'd ever get round to using it!

  5. Hi Anna, yes, I believe it is the tape you can use to decorate walls. I have seen an image or two. It is reusable and doesn't leave marks :)

  6. Ooh Sarah I think my collection is about the same size as yours! It's fantastic stuff, I am rather partial to the fluro pink one too, it's so cheerful! I use mine on the walls all the time too. Love to see your cards, I hope you have a great week, another freezing morning this morning unfortunately!

  11. Oh so scrummy! I must confess to a bit of a collection too... How can one resist?! I can't wait to see what you do with them!
I also smiled at the boy who wouldn't touch pink, I am a teacher and immediately four of my male teaching co workers spring to mind (this is not going to end as you might think...) because they happily and proudly wear various shades, including fluro, of pink collared shirts! They are masculine and great role models, but in pink!!!!! It is amazing how times change!!!! (I think it sends a good message to the boys too!) x

  18. I read somewhere when I was studying that traditionally blue once was the colour for girls and more pinky red tones (I'm thinking maroon perhaps??) for the lads and that really it is only society that dictates what is what....hmmm did I just read too deeply into a fun post about washi tape (I think I kinda did) :)
