Friday flower - agapanthus

For today's Friday Flowers I have a beautiful blue agapathus.

I bought these at the local Farmer's Market and they have kept so well. They're almost 2 weeks old and at only 50c a stem, that's great value!

I have photographed them from underneath as I was trying to avoid all the background kitchen clutter.
Wishing you a lovely weekend. I hope you have something fab planned!
xx

  3. Mine have all dried out and gone to seed. Did you know you can dry them out and paint them. Very effective. Love the photos. Would have also giggled T the clutter. Deb

  4. I love agapanthus too Sarah, I am trying to grow them all the way up our drive. I just need to do a better job of splitting them. Yours look beautifully photographed too. ;-)

  5. Agapanthus are so hardy and reliable. I discovered them when I lived in Toowoomba and we had a yard full of red soil. So easy to propagate too!

  6. I second MMM-C, except my experience with them was in Sth Africa, where also the earth was so red and fertile. I had them growing in my first house in Brisbane, and they always reminded me that Xmas was close, as they'd bloom around the first week of December.

  7. They're such a nice colour.
I forgot to take a photo in the garden last night so I'll have to go home tonight and snap a few of the Christmas lilies.
Hope you have a lovely weekend Sarah.

  8. The ones that I had in the garden have also done with flowering - shame, they're such a striking flower.
    Have a lovely weekend.

  9. I have a love/hate relationship with agapanthus, they are such a generous plant at this time of year, but that awful yellow winter look makes them very unattractive. Great in a vase though!

  16. Aggies are another of my favourite flowers Sarah. And they're so easy to grow - so much so that parts of NZ have declared them noxious weeds and banned them. I'm petrified in case the ban extends to Wellington and Hawkes Bay. I can't see whats not to like!
