Friday flower... striking dahlia


Isn't she a beaut?
No computer image fiddle faddling going on here either. It's all real :)


This is the beautiful dahlia I brought home with me from last Sunday's Farmers Market.
I just love it. Mum has already requested a piece of tuber when it has grown a little.
Doesn't nature create the most amazing things?

    Stunning!

    I can imagine blooms like this being the inspiration for many artists to create fabrics, homewares, you name it.
    It's as if God has taken a brush and painted the ends of each petal with the most glorious happy purple paint.

    I have never grown dhalias, however I think they are fabulous. Apparently I have a cousin who is obsessed and grows them for flower shows. Yours is spectacular..
