Gardening fun

I thought it was time for a garden update. I have been quite busy and still have a lot of work to do, but it's good, rewarding work. Some parts of the garden are still going strong but others need a little help.

The icebergs out the front are still lovely, as is the stunning blue salvia. I'm hoping that both will keep going for a while yet.

I discovered a number of flower spikes on my orchids so they'll be lovely to bring inside soon.

My little blue ageratum are doing quite well and I planted blue anemones and orange ranunculus around them the other day.

I finally planted up all my herbs into a few nice blue pots for the sunny spot out the front. I think they might like a feed along with the rest of the yard.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't daunted by the amount of spring bulbs I have yet to plant. I managed to get in a few hundred blue ixias but still have a few hundred ranunculus, daffodills, irises, anemones, grape hyacinths and freesias to go!
I hope the hard work is worth it!

Looks like being a busy Easter in the garden :-)

  2. Gorgeous. I love roses. Unfortunately our house is built on a rock (there's virtually no soil at all). Oh well, will have to keep plugging away.

  3. That bulb burying will be completely worth it Sarah. And I'm so jealous of your orchid spikes...I have four plants but so far only one spike...I think it's because I've moved them and they did suffer from frost last year...in a safer spot now! Enjoy the gardening...good idea...might join you.

  5. Your garden is looking fabulous - love the colours you've chosen. I'm still waiting on my ranunculus to arrive from Diggers and will buy my sweet peas tomorrow so hopefully I'll get them all in this weekend! The herbs look wonderful in those gorgeous blue pots - practical and beautiful. Leigh

  12. Hi Sarah, love the new header - Molyl looks so cute in that shot :) Your garden is looking fantastic - your iceberg roses look stunning along that fence. Your herb pots look like decent sized ones, my ones are much smaller so I might go and get some bigger ones I think. Love the ageratum, are they good as a border plant? Can't wait to see all your bulbs out in bloom - they are going to be amazing by the sounds of it with all those hundreds of bulbs you're planting!! Thanks for your ideas about my lounge room artwork the other day x

  13. Those roses look gorgeous Sarah. You're obviously a much better gardener than I am, it took one of my orchids 8 years to flower! We live on a couple of acres, and my efforts so far have amounted to heaps of agapanthus, two jacarandas and lots of frangipanis. You certainly put me to shame! xx
