I was surprised to see this little hoop petticoat daffodil blooming in a patch of concrete around a flower bed.
That's determination for you. Look at that lovely chunk of concrete at the base of a down-pipe, or as I like to refer to them, our irrigation system. I'm not sure any of our down-pipes actually function as down-pipes as they're so old and rusty. But on the upside, enough water has been provided for this little yellow guy to bloom.
Nice. Have a lovely Friday friends :)
xx

ReplyDeleteMy mum dumped some in my garden when she moved into a retirement home. Those and the snowdrops keep appearing in places I don't think even she would have planted them. And that's saying something!

ReplyDeleteVery sweet. Reminds me of when I visited my mothers childhood home. My grandmother was an amazing gardener. They lived out west where it was so hot and dry. She collected geraniums. When I visited there was nothing left of the garden it was as if nature had reclaimed the land, save for one lone geranium plant struggling to live behind the cement front step. I couldn't resist and took a cutting for my mum, it is now here favorite plant and has done well....anyway, have a lovely weekend. Xx Katherine
