Bits and bobs ... tea

I really want to get back into doing more Bits and Bobs posts this year as it's something I  really enjoy. This shot was part of the February 7 Vignettes photo challenge on Instagram. I shot it for the 'kitchen' theme.

We have a little old teapot form a local junk market, a pretty and very tiny tea caddy, a T2 teabag, a box of teabags and three beautiful pieces that my dear old Auntie Ila used to own - her teacup, a small spoon and tea strainer. I love owning these :)

I am definitely a tea girl. I think I drink about 2 or 3 coffees a year. It's just not my thing. I love the smell of it but there really is nothing like a really good cuppa, especially first thing in the morning (says she sitting here on the couch with the computer and her second cuppa for the day).

So, are you a tea or coffe drinker?

  1. Hi Sarah. I love a creamy topped cappucino but limit myself to only one coffee a day. Tea is my all round everyday drink..a decent brew, white with no sugar is my preference or green tea with no added extras if I'm feeling seedy!

  2. I'm a tea drinker all the way :) Several cups a day. I love your collection of tea paraphernalia... especially your tea cup which I think might be identical (or at least the same range) as the one I inherited from my Nanna. I love that tea box too :)

  3. Yes, totally agree with the tea drinking thing. I drink at least half a dozen cups per day, even on 30 degree plus days!
Your teapot looks to be an English made 'Swan' brand with the particular model called The Carlton, made in the 50's. I have one that was my grandmothers and it takes pride of place in my kitchen.
Have you tried Teadrop tea? I have recently got into it. It is absolutely heavenly, particularly their Earl Grey. http://www.teadrop.com.au

    1. Hi Stella, You are correct, the teapot is a Swan brand. I didn't know the model, so thank you. I will check out the tea you mention too :)

    2. Hi Sarah,
If you wanted to try some Teadrop tea before buying a box or tinful (it is a bit more expensive than most brands) they serve it at the Royal Botanical Gardens cafe here in Hobart. That's where I got my first taste of it and have purchased it off their website since.
      Cheers! :)

    4. Try the Earl Grey, it is divine. I'm not normally an Earl Grey fan but Teadrop Earl Grey is fantastic!
Yes, Devonshire Tea at the Botanic Gardens is lovely, especially in Spring when the bulbs are all out and it's drizzly and grey outside! :)
(Gee at the age of 37 I sound like I'm a pensioner rabbiting on about Devonshire tea and tea pots!)

    5. Ha! Not like a pensiomer at all! I am not always a fan of Earl Grey, sometimes it's just too fragrant, but I will def try it. I think I may have tried a lavender blend? Thanks for the tip :)
ps, you don't have a blog, do you?
