Friday flowers - winter or spring?

It appears I need to have a word with my garden regarding the amount of spring bulbs that are popping up whilst it's still winter.

These eggs and bacon smell so beautiful.
I know I've said it before, but I feel a bit sorry for plants that flower out of season. Maybe it's a good sign that spring is not too far away?

I had to post another image of my blue polyanthus as that white edge is so pretty.

It's terrible but I'm really looking forward for this weekend being done and dusted. That will finally end my mammoth 12 day stint at work and I'll have two days off to catch up on everything.
I hope you are all well.
ps. don't forget my little giveaway. You have until Sunday evening to enter! I'm on my iPod thingy so can't post the link but it's easy to find!
xx

  2. The polyanthus are beautiful.

I also feel sorry for flowers that bloom out of season. I wonder why that happens? It's not nice for them when the weather turns nasty again.

  4. Oh, Sarah, our garden is just as confused. Isn't is bizarre, considering how much snow we've had on the Mountain for weeks now? I'd love some of those foxgloves if you're free this weekend! J x

  7. You always post such lovely images of your flowers Sarah. I wonder what your garden looks like from afar? Is it a myriad of differnt colours and flowers or are you very organised with your placings?
Hope you get a well deserved rest after your mammouth work stint.

  9. Your beautiful flowers are so cheering because it means spring isn't far off now! Hooray!
Are they really called egg and bacon?? I was thinking of how eggs and bacon smell when you mentioned how sweet the flowers themselves smell :) They are such a delicate pretty shade of yellow and cream.
Have a good rest! 12 days is just too long! Xoxo

  15. May I ask where you acquired the polyanthus? There is a picture of one, labeled Propellers' polyanthus, on Pinterest that I have wanted to add to my garden for some time. I would be most grateful if you could help me in locating a source for this exquisite plant.
