I painted this when I was 16 years old. Wow, that's a long time ago.
It's watercolour/acrylic and lace. I remember being very pleased with it when I finished it and am still quite fond of it today.
I was looking at it this morning and wondering if I'd ever feel motivated enough to paint something like this again. The thought of it is rather daunting.
I just don't know what art project to take on next. I know I would like to do some more things for the Etsy store. Not jewellery. Maybe some painting (small ones!) or maybe some prints or cards from artwork? But artwork of what? Simple table settings with sweet teacups? Flowers?
Decisions, decisions!
Maybe if you come back this time next year I might have decided!
I hope you are all having a nice Saturday.
xx
ps sorry for terrible photo - in a rush as usual!
That's a wonderful painting! I can't believe you did it when you were 16.
ReplyDeleteDo you have it hanging somewhere, or is it stored away?
I hope it inspires you to paint something. (Finding the time though. That's a killer.)
Love it Sarah....do some more!
ReplyDeleteVery French impressionist. You totally have to get your brushes out again. I never tire of good still life! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a great painting - I love dragging out my old high school art file and looking at all the pieces I worked so hard on. I think some small paintings in your Etsy shop is a great idea.

ReplyDeleteWow Sarah this is amazing, you are so lucky to have such a gift. I love the idea of small paintings. I think the romantic style of this painting would lend itself really well to gorgous detailed small paintings...time to brush off those brushes xx
ReplyDeleteLovely to see you last week Sarah, I hope we didn't keep you at work too late, I thought it was a great exhibition. Did you have a nice weekend? When are you off again? I love your painting I definitely think you should take it up again! Did you enjoy painting? I was never much good at it but liked printmaking a lot, we had David Keeling as our school art teacher and he was wonderful to learn from.
ReplyDeleteSarah you are very talented and if you started taking classes for the comaraderie I bet you would have the spirit to paint again!
