Fuschia fun for Friday flowers

It was windy and dull when I took these images in my backyard yesterday.

All these lovely fuschias grew from cuttings from my sister's garden.

They will always remind me of my Nan (Mum's mother) who grew them in her garden.
I used to love popping the unopened blooms, like most children do and in fact, I still do :)
These pics are a little blurry but I like the lush, fresh feel of them.

So I hope you all have a fun Friday.
ps my apologies for my complete and utter blogging slackness and while I'm at it, my lack of actual renovation posts on this-here-so-called renovation blog. I really hope I can rectify that in the next few weeks with some lovely plumbing improvements. Of course it wont be anything pretty, in fact I'm expecting lots of ugliness, but hey, we'll see what happens. I assume that now I have even mentioned it, it may well take much longer! Ugghhh!
Have a great weekend bloggies.
xx

  1. Hi Sarah!
Theres something about fuschias I just love - they are so delicate and come in such a wide range of colours and sizes, some simple some more layered and flamboyant.
Your fuschias are beautiful!Especially love the first frilly one and the last simple one.
makes me think of summer seeing those - mine havent started shooting yet - have still got last years wood on them for protection as its still quite cold here, but shall think about cutting them down soon as they look so scruffy!
    Have a great weekend!

  8. Oh the best bit about fuschia's is the popping. I love it.
You are totally excused for blog slackness. I have been like that a bit lately. Sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day.

  10. Hi Sarah,They are so beautiful! My Dad used to grow these when we were in Melbourne for a time so they remind me of him. I think there are now some varities for our tropical climate. Hope you have a lovely weekend, cheers Katherine

  11. I love fuschias too - yours contrast so beautifully with the lush green foliage. Ours sadly didn't last being transplanted in our recent backyard renos.

  12. Those fuchsias a lovely. We didn't have so many growing up in Darwin, but I have always appreciated how pretty they are. They always seemed so exotic to me! I love those images with the fence.. such a vintage backyard charm effect, I think they are my favourite pics. X

  13. Pretty photos, Sarah. We have fuchsias right outside our front door and the older pixies do delight in popping them. Miss India calls them 'ballerinas'. I hope the weather improves for your renovating - hasn't it been foul here this week? J x
